Christophe "Tof" BONCENS
Vocals & Guitar

I was born in November 22nd (Scorpion ! it was already like a sign) one leap year, which doesn't really have no importance, nor even no incidence on the continuation of my life. I don't know why, but one day, I awoke liking Hard rock. I was between 10 and 12 years old…

My first guitar - it didn't tune that well -

I was 11 years old and nevertheless, the most important thing was, my true first guitar (an Aria pro 2 with a super Vantage amplifier which screamed to death... Especially my family) and all those bands which I was part of, and without them I would not be one of THE JONES.

Live at the "Local" September 2002

With music, two things, two shocks, gave me desire for being a guitarist... and singer (why not?) thereafter.
There was a visual shock with KISS, even if I am not a fan of their albums, I remember the first time I saw them on TV, because at the time, in France, we could see and hear all the styles of music. The
auditive (and thus extreme pleasure) shock had as name IRON MAIDEN and mainly the album "Killers", which remains for me a reference when one speaks about Hard Rock (or Metal... as you like. In any event what counts it's not the name, it's the effect on you.) thereafter appeared Def Leppard, Saxon, Helloween, Accept, Metallica, Dream Theater, Pain of Salvation, Nightwish etc... And I forget some.

Apart from the music I like: Drawing, the sea, and surely some other wee things you certainly don't give a fuck.

Yeah, I went to the "Beaux Arts" School
and I even had hair !

I like my Macintosh, you know, the apple crunched on the side...

Macintof

Therefore, when I 'm writing music, it's on my "PowerMac G4" with softwares like Cubase and Reason.
However I knew prehistory in term of recording. I started, like many others, by an old rotten tape recorder which gave
more noise than  music to my ears. (It is at that time that I started to lose some hair). Then I got a Tascam 8 tracks, always on audio K7 and always the noise, that didn't arrange my hair.

Then the time of Atari STF with Cubase 2 and 3 synchronized to a Roland VS 880 came (yeah ! Finally numerical and this f...ing noise disappeared along my last hair) and finally I'm working on Mac since 2001, a real pleasure when a machine does'nt crash.

My set up: a Charvel, a Lag, a Takamine, a bass guitar and a keyboard to compose, a Marshall, a Podline 6 and of the neighbors to support all that. Not I 'm kidding, I play with earphones not to make me assassinate.

Friendly "hello"  to guys of Stormbringer, Alternatif,  Bottom's up, Brou clean, to Laurent B, to Marc our former bassman - his nickname : "Cap'tain cavern", a huge deal -
